2 x 100GB STEC Enterprise SSD for CacheCade 2.0 RAID Acceleration
The solution is now listed on Open-E’s certified systems page along with a downloadable report – including suitable use cases, unique features and a full performance test with methodology. You can access the report from the following link – Click here
In the report, the Boston Igloo 2U-30T-Stor-10GSFP system shows excellent throughput around 500MB/s for both read and write tests, even with RAID 6 protection. This makes the system great for applications where large files are moved around such as video, NAS storage and high speed archiving.
Additionally the system is fitted with 2 x STEC enterprise grade SSD drives to enable CacheCade 2.0 RAID acceleration. This enables some very impressive random read and write IOPS performance figures – more than 20K for random read and more than 13K for random write. This makes the system great for a variety of traditionally difficult storage applications where random IO is significant, such as databases, exchange, OLTP / websites, virtualisation & VDI.
For further information on CacheCade 2.0 and how it accelerates random IO, you can read Boston’s exclusive whitepaper which goes into detail about the technology and how it can accelerate data access hotspots and increase performance by between 20 and 150 times a standard disk array with no SSD caching – Click here.
