Data generation has seen an uptick in the past few years. During 2010, 1.2 Zettabytes of data was generated, in 2020, 59 Zettabytes. This large quantity of data has to be stored somewhere, and often, large sums of data has to be recalled rapidly for use in HPC workloads.
Processing power is a pivotal detail in HPC. To make workloads cost-efficient the system has to finish a task in a timely manner without consuming too much energy. This is achieved by optimising the system to rapidly process data be it using CPUs, GPUs, DPUs, or IPUs. The rule of thumb is: faster processors complete tasks faster, but consume more energy - this requires a balance to be struck.
Using high-speed compute in conjunction with fast data flow requires sufficient networking. Reason being is that slow communication between the storage and compute can cause bottlenecks. Bottlenecking makes the system perform worse, which in turn slows down work processes and makes the set-up less cost-efficient.
At Boston our support does not stop when your solution is installed, we also offer a multitude of ongoing supportive services. Once your solution is up and running, we carry on supporting you with any and all ways we can so you can focus on the system benefits instead of its upkeep.
These services range from one off upgrades, through certifications to audits, and everything in between. In short, these services are for clients who do not have a support contract with us.
