Capable of supporting up to 12 x 3.5" Hot-swap SAS / SATA disk drives the Boston Igloo 2U-30T-Stor-10GSFP provides the perfect platform for a high density storage solution whilst maintaining a compact 2U size and vast expandability.
The Boston Igloo 2U-30T-Stor-10GSFP is a high capacity unified file and block storage system that provides both Network Attached Storage (NAS) and iSCSI, Storage Area Network (SAN) functionality with an added level of SSD I/O acceleration.
The supplied 10 x 3TB Enterprise Class S-ATA HDD's are complimented by 2 x 100GB STEC S-ATA SSD's to provide a hybrid pool. The result is storage density and the high performance IO requirements for demanding applications without breaking the bank.
Additionally, leveraging Open-E DSS V7 the Boston Igloo 2U-30T-Stor-10GSFP provides superior performance, security, and scalability at a fraction of the cost of alternative storage offerings. Advanced features of Open-E DSS V7 include Data and Volume Replication, Volume Snapshot, Automatic Failover for iSCSI Volumes, WORM and NDMP.
The versatility of the Open-E DSS V7 solution also allows the system to combine NAS systems with iSCSI SAN systems, and provides built-in virus protection, while enabling the connection of multiple Network Interface Controllers, including Gigabit Ethernet, 10 Gigabit Ethernet.

The Boston Igloo 2U-30T-Stor-10GSFP is pre-installed with MegaRAID® CacheCade Pro 2.0 software. This offers a new option to solving your storage system challenges, allowing SSDs to act as a dedicated pool of high-performance cache between the hard disk drive (HDD) and select 6Gb/s MegaRAID controller cards. By using SSDs as a dedicated pool of cache to deliver hot data, this software solution lowers your total cost of ownership (TCO) by helping to avoid the cost of IT cycles for application tuning or sourcing more CPU, memory or enterprise HDDs.
