On Wednesday 11th September, Boston Limited hosted its annual Technology Innovation Day (TID) at the legendary Silverstone racecourse, delivering an action-packed day of industry-leading presentations, thrilling track experiences and fantastic networking opportunities. This year’s event was one for the books, combining cutting-edge technology insights with the exhilaration of a Porsche driving experience.
The excitement began the evening before at Whittlebury Hall, where we welcomed our guests with a private dinner and drinks. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to reconnect with customers in a relaxed setting before the main event. With conversations flowing over dinner, the stage was set for a day full of innovation and collaboration.
The following morning, the main event kicked off at Porsche Silverstone. Guests were greeted with a Boston-hosted breakfast, setting the tone for what would be a dynamic day of tech talks and track action.
The day’s presentations began with Boston’s Matt Parfitt, who welcomed everyone and shared insights into the exciting developments shaping our industry. This was followed by a fantastic line-up of speakers from our key partners, starting with Vik Malaya from Supermicro, Ross Verral from NVIDIA, Sam Smallwood from AMD and Richard Mansfield from DDN, each delivering valuable perspectives on the future of computing, data storage and AI.
We then had Miguel Navarro from Castrol take to the stage to explore the growing importance of sustainable technologies, before Ajay Tyagi from DKube closed the presentations with a deep dive into AI and machine learning platforms.
As the morning of presentations drew to a close, we gathered for a delicious three-course lunch, hosted by Boston. The lunch provided a perfect opportunity to network and discuss the wealth of knowledge shared by the speakers. Conversations ranged from technical deep dives to future collaborations, all fuelled by a shared passion for pushing the boundaries of technology.
After lunch, the event shifted gears to the highly anticipated Porsche driving experience. But before we hit the track, Porsche’s expert team delivered a comprehensive safety briefing, preparing our guests for what was to come.
Attendees were split into groups and took turns driving around the iconic Silverstone track. While some guests put their driving skills to the test, others had the chance to meet one-on-one with our technology vendors. This rotation allowed everyone to experience both the thrills of the track and the chance for more in-depth discussions with our partners.
The combination of high-speed track action and technical discussions created a unique and memorable atmosphere for all involved. It wasn’t just about the technology—it was about experiencing something extraordinary.
As the last cars roared around the track and the final meetings were wrapped up, we gathered once more for afternoon tea. It was the perfect way to round off an exhilarating day, allowing us all to reflect on the new ideas, relationships and opportunities that had emerged throughout the event.
This year’s Technology Innovation Day was a resounding success, thanks to the hard work of everyone involved and the support of our fantastic partners—Supermicro, NVIDIA, AMD, DDN, Castrol and DKube. Their contributions made this year’s event both informative and inspiring, and we’re already looking forward to what’s in store for next year.
