Congratulations to Boston partner's Supermicro and CoolIT Systems who's innovative hardware has enabled Intel? to deploy a High Performance Compute cluster that has ranked 400th on the Top500 list of Supercomputers in the world!
The impressive cluster, running live on Intel's booth at SC '13 (booth #2701) and based on Supermicro's ultra-dense FatTwin server platform and CoolIT's Direct Contact Liquid Cooling (DCLC) technology, features 9936 cores reaching 131.2 Teraflops. Perhaps even more impressive is that the system only consumed a total of 74.25kW of power! Each SuperMicro FatTwin node features dual Intel® Xeon® Processors and three Intel Xeon Phi® coprocessors, resulting in over a kilowatt of heat per node for CoolIT to manage.
Boston have been working with both Supermicro and CoolIT at this year's SC '13, where they are demonstrating both the liquid-cooled eight-node FatTwin and the liquid-cooled Boston Venom 2402-0T - based on Supermicro's Hyper-Speed technology.
If you're at the Colorado Convention Centre in Denver this week, pop over to stand #441 and see the liquid-cooled HPC solutions of the future for yourself!
To help our clients make informed decisions about new technologies, we have opened up our research & development facilities and actively encourage customers to try the latest platforms using their own tools and if necessary together with their existing hardware. Remote access is also available
International Super Computing is a can't miss event for anyone interested in HPC, tech, and more.
