BREAKING NEWS: Boston the first British company to ship ARM-based servers

Posted on 24 July, 2012

Ladies and Gentlemen – it is with great delight to announce that the ARM-server revolution is finally upon us!

After months of testing following its successful launch at SC’11, the wait is now well and truly over, as Boston becomes the first company in the world to announce the manufacturing and worldwide distribution of our ARM-based server: the innovative Viridis platform.

Based on Calxeda EnergyCore™ SoC (System on a Chip) that leverage ultra-low power ARM processors, The Boston Viridis platform is the world’s first server to enter general availability in a new generation of data centre servers based on the same technology used to power the Apple® iPhone®, iPad® and other low-power consumer devices.

For more information, please read the exclusive press-release that was released yesterday – Boston Limited ships first ARM-based servers to bring low-power economics to data centres.

To see some of the great coverage the Viridis platform has already received in the media, read our blog post – ‘Boston Viridis ARM-based server in the media’.
