The Boston Igloo 2U-16T-Stor is an end-to-end 12Gb/s SAS3 server solution that delivers up to twice the performance for I/O intensive applications over the previous generation SAS 6Gb/s interconnect. Additionally, leveraging LSI's DataBolt™ technology enables this new platform to enhance the performance of 6Gb/s drives when connected via a 12Gb/s expander.
Boston has developed the Boston Igloo 2U-16T-Stor to provide users with a solution that fully leverages SAS3 technology, delivering an end-to-end 12Gb/s server solution that offers up to double the performance for I/O intensive applications over the previous generation SAS 6Gbit/s interconnect.

Additionally, featuring LSI's revolutionary DataBolt™ expander technology, the Boston Igloo 2U-16T-Stor is designed to help IT Managers keep pace with the explosion of data in today's datacenters whilst maintaining backwards compatibility. This unique feature allows users to take advantage of 12Gb/s speeds while using existing 6Gb/s drive infrastructure. DataBolt™ achieves this by aggregating bandwidth from 6Gb/s and 3Gb/s devices to a 12Gb/s data stream via an expander, helping to ease a potential bottleneck.
The Boston Igloo 2U-16T-Stor is equipped with Windows Server 2012 R2, providing a proven enterprise-class datacentre and cloud platform that's capable of running the largest workloads while remaining flexible enough to cope with the changing demands of today's datacentres. Windows Server 2012 R2 helps Datacentre Managers easily and cost-effectively respond to developing trends in the datacentre, such as new applications, device proliferation, data explosion, and cloud computing.
