The Boston Venom 2101-0T is the latest high-performance GPU server in a 1U form factor - combining Xeon E5-2600 V3 CPUs from Intel, NVIDIA K80 GPU's and innovative Direct Contact Liquid Cooling technology. Intel's latest generation Xeon E5-2600 V3 series processors enable significant performance improvements over the previous generation through a higher core count, faster QPI link and super-fast DDR4 memory.
The Boston Venom 2101-0T is based on the latest generation Supermicro X10 server platform. It supports two E5-2600 V3 CPU's, up to 1TB of DDR4 ECC Registered memory and up to 3 double width GPU accelerator cards.
The server features 4 hot-swappable SATA hard drives or SSDs and is powered by redundant 1,600 watt Platinum Level Efficiency (94%+) power supplies for maximum availability and the lowest power consumption possible.
Additionally, two 1GbE (or 10GBase-T optional) ports are included as standard alongside a third dedicated network interface for the remote management (IPMI) hardware.
To enable the use of the highest performing hardware and further enhance performance, the CPUs and GPU accelerators are liquid cooled, providing customers with the ability to address a diverse set of challenges facing modern HPC clusters. This makes the Venom 2101-0T a perfect solution for datacentres.
The liquid cooling technology efficiently removes heat directly from hot spots and moves it to an external heat exchanger, which can be installed either internally or externally to the rack. Heat exchangers can be either liquid-to-liquid, using utility water for cooling, or liquid-to-air, using existing air conditioning or free-air cooling.
Thanks to the CoolIT's DCLC technology the server runs more efficiently and power requirements are reduced; therefore the number of servers per rack can be increased.
This means that the Boston Venom 2101-0T is ideal for running computationally intensive applications, such as HPC, medical imaging, oil and gas exploration, quantum chemistry, financial simulation, genomics, and astrophysics.
