IRVINE, CA - October 15, 2013 - Solarflare, the leading provider of application-intelligent networking software and hardware, today announced the expansion of its SolarCapture™ product family with the introduction of SolarCapture Pro. SolarCapture Pro, when used with Solarflare's Flareon™ server adapters and ApplicationOnload™ Engine (AOE), provides advanced packet capture capabilities typically found in expensive, specialized appliances or exotic hardware. Utilizing Solarflare's unique technology, customers can selectively deploy SolarCapture Pro on Flareon or AOE platforms. As a result, customers can transform any server into a precision network monitoring device or sensor - increasing network visibility, security and performance analysis.
Today, CIOs and CISOs who manage enterprise and service provider networks face increasing business demands to deliver performance SLAs, compliance audits and monitoring data for security threats. Solarflare's new packet capture applications enable any server to monitor, analyze and secure networks. Launched in July with the introduction of SolarCapture, the expanded family of packet capture applications now adds SolarCapture Pro and AOE SolarCapture Pro.
"As our world continues to access network data at astounding rates, the need for more diligent monitoring and security has become mission-critical for a wide variety of industries, including financial services, Web 2.0 companies, cloud service providers and government entities," said Russell Stern, CEO at Solarflare.
"Our expanded family of packet capture applications provides our customers with the advantage of integrating network monitoring and security with application acceleration, enabling them to solve key challenges relating to bandwidth, latency and cost."
SolarCapture Pro optimizes network monitoring and security by utilizing Solarflare's Flareon or AOE platforms to capture packets at the highest rates. SolarCapture Pro features advanced capabilities such as kernel bypass for lossless packet capture performance, PTP clock synchronization, precision hardware packet time stamping, and simultaneous capture and host delivery of packets. In addition, SolarCapture Pro has advanced features that optimize system efficiency. Further, SolarCapture Pro includes support for industry standard libpcap API as well as C and Python bindings, enabling integration with third-party tools such as Snort, Suricata, and Wireshark, along with a customizable API to support OpenFlow and other SDN taps.
To help our clients make informed decisions about new technologies, we have opened up our research & development facilities and actively encourage customers to try the latest platforms using their own tools and if necessary together with their existing hardware. Remote access is also available
