The Boston Value Series 120 G8 is an entry-level server solution comprising of Supermicro’s X9SCL-F uni-processor motherboard and has support for Intel’s next generation 4-core Xeon E3-1200 V2 series processors, code-named Ivy-Bridge; providing up to 4 CPU cores / 8 Threads, improved memory bandwidth thanks to its upgraded frequency of 1600MHz and PCI-Express generation 3 interconnect.
The Boston Value Series 120 G8 is an entry-level server solution comprising of Supermicro’s 1U 1017C-TF super-server with support for Intel’s next generation Xeon E3-1200 v2 series processors, code-named Ivy-Bridge.
The Boston Value Series 120 G8, the first in a wide array of single processor (UP) solutions by Boston, utilises Supermicro’s next generation X9SCL-F uni-processor motherboard, delivering enterprise features at an affordable price tag.
The new Ivy Bridge processors use tri-gate 22nm lithography technology which provides clock-for-clock better power consumption figures against the previous generation Sandy Bridge core. The Xeon E3-1240 v2 processors provide up to 4-cores / 8-threads as well as upgraded PCI-E 3.0 bus speed for greatly increased bandwidth for compatible add-on cards and controllers. Memory bandwidth is also substantially increased from previous generations – from DDR3-1333MHz to 1600MHz – via two memory channels with 2 DIMMS per channel. The inclusion of four DIMM slots enables the installation of up to 32GB of ECC Unbuffered memory.
With Dual Intel PCI-E gigabit controllers, 4 x 2.5" 500GB SATA2 RAID 5 HDDs and a 330 watt high-efficiency power supply, this feature packed Value Series 120 G8 offers the latest technology in a small form factor at the right price.
