Boston Roamer 1101-0

The Boston Roamer 1101-0 provides an excellent balance of computing performance, server density and AMD NVGPU remote workstation support to your IT infrastructure - all in 1U rack mount form factor. This perfectly engineered system houses two Intel E5-2650 V4 processors, 64GB of DDR4 memory, 64GB SATA DOM, 8TB of storage space, dual port 10GbE RJ-45 and an AMD FirePro™ S7150 x2 to enable your VDI seats with the professional graphics features they need.

Each Boston Roamer 1101-0 supports up to 4 AMD FirePro S7150 x2 GPU's, 4 SAS or SATA devices in 2.5" / SFF hot swap bays, up to 2TB of RAM and up to two processors, selectable from the entire Intel Xeon E5-2600 V4 range.

AMD is taking virtualized workstations and applications to new heights - bringing the power of AMD FirePro™ professional graphics to the cloud; enabling seamless access to end users from any location. IT managers can now easily move power workers and artists from physical PCs to virtual desktops that can be easily managed in one central location. The new AMD FirePro™ S7150 and S7150 x2 Server GPUs with AMD Multiuser GPU (MxGPU) technology delivers virtualized graphics that enable a simple, secure and cost effective solution for high performance virtual workstations.

Each AMD FirePro™ S7150 x2 card hosts two GPUs and a huge 16GB of GDDR5, enabling it to host up to 32 users.

AMD brings the world's first hardware virtualised graphics solution to the VDI market. This brings several advantages over software defined virtualised graphics approaches. Using hardware based virtualisation means there are no licensing costs associated with deploying AMD's MVGPU; choosing to share the card with 2 or 16 users makes no difference - the cost remains the same. Administration of MVGPU is simple too, there's no need to assign, manage or keep track of licensed GPU features as everything is included with your FirePro™ card as standard.

Utilising hardware virtualisation over software enables each virtual GPU performance profile to be guaranteed, consistent and predictable as each users resources will not be shared at any time with any other VDI seat.

The Roamer 1101-0 also includes redundant Titanium level efficiency power supplies, to help keep the system online in the event of power failures too, yet still delivering 96% efficiency; meaning you can rest easy knowing energy is not unnecessarily wasted.
