Based on Supermico's Big Twin server range, the Boston Quattro 1264-TN-DC2 is a liquid-cooled 4-node server, utilising 2-phase direct-to-chip technology and supports AMD EPYC™ 7003 range of processors.
The Boston Quattro 1264-TN-DC2 is a high density 4-node dual-processor server based on AMD’s high performance EPYC processors.
It features a dual SP3 socket motherboard that supports two AMD EPYC processors, with up to 64 cores and 128 threads, 4TB of DDR4-3200 ECC memory and 1 PCIe 4.0 expansion slot per node. It is housed in a modular 2U chassis that supports 4 hot-swap U.2 NVMe SSDs and 2 SATA drives, as well as 2 M.2 PCIe 4.0 interface per node. This enables advanced storage options for challenging applications.
A flexible I/O module (SIOM) allows for selection of several Ethernet and InfiniBand networking options to fit practically every network requirement. Enterprise features include a dedicated port for IPMI remote management and a standard 2200W redundant titanium level PSU.
Boston has partnered with ZutaCore to take server cooling to the next level. The Boston Quattro 1264-TN-DC2 is using HyperCool; a direct-on-chip, waterless, evaporative 2-phase liquid cooling solution. This technology has many benefits - it allows for more stable frequencies under load which increases CPU performance while lowering the overall server power consumption at the same time. It improves energy efficiency and makes high-performance computing possible in environments that have air cooling limitations or have high ambient temperature.
