The Boston Igloo 2U-18T-Stor-10GSFP storage server appliance contains dual active-active iSCSI SAN servers in one easy to install-and-maintain modular enclosure. Data is synchronously mirrored between the two servers using a pair of dedicated 10GbE links. This replication helps guarantee data availability and business continuity in the event of planned or unplanned downtime of either SAN node, yet still delivers the performance and capacity modern enterprise requirements at a reasonable price tag.
Quad 1GbE interfaces on each appliance guarantee significant bandwidth for host connectivity, allowing applications to move large data sets quickly and effectively. The inclusive high availability cluster pack enables different volumes to be served from each SAN server simultaneously, resulting in improved server utilisation and better performance yet also enabling failover in the event of link, switch or SAN failure.
Additionally, leveraging Open-E DSS V7 the Boston Igloo 2U-18T-Stor-10GSFP provides superior performance, security, and scalability at a fraction of the cost of alternative storage offerings.
Driven by an easy to use web GUI, Open-E DSS V7 is designed to make storage administration a simple process. Monitoring the cluster, creating backups and provisioning new iSCSI LUNs are simple processes requiring just a few clicks – making light work of traditionally complex tasks.
