Broadcast India Review

Posted on 02 November, 2016

Boston attended Broadcast India, the biggest show of its kind, on 20-22nd October in Mumbai this year, where we were pleased to announce our end-to-end solutions for companies within the broadcast industry.

There were a lot of great systems on the stand, but one of the most popular was the demo of our latest NVIDIA's GRID solution, the Boston Roamer 1100-0. The demo was so popular in-fact that further demonstrations had to be scheduled to meet demand.

NVIDIA GRID® is the industry's most advanced technology for sharing true virtual GPU (vGPU) hardware acceleration between multiple users - without compromising the graphics experience. This virtualization technology ensures complete application compatibility which means features and experience are exactly the same as they would be on a workstation sitting under your desk.

Another audience attractor was the Boston KNL Development Platform featuring up to 72 cores using Intel® Xeon Phi® Processor 7200 Series in a workstation-like pedestal system and acts as a pre-cursor to production environments that can be found in our ubiquitous 2U, 4-node Quattro platform.

The Quattro 12256-T system, based on Supermicro® server technology, features four nodes supporting up to 72 cores per node and 384GB of DDR4 DRAM. This system may be utilised for ray tracing, machine learning and a raft of other complex processing workloads.

Recognising the industry's move to cloud environments for digital content creation, creative artists, rendering and content delivery, Boston introduced the vScaler platform which can orchestrate, manage and deploy ultra-dense yet scalable and high performance software defined infrastructure enabling on-premise, off-premise and hybrid cloud platforms. Mr. Manoj Nayee, Managing Director of the Boston group, commented of the event:

"It was exciting to reveal ground breaking new technologies at this year's Broadcast India event. The broadcast, film and media & entertainment industry is constantly evolving and we feel that our solutions, innovations and services can truly assist the growth and capabilities of media companies. The feedback and response we got from visitors to our stand was overwhelmingly positive and we look forward to working with our partners in delivering these solutions into the market."
